Quarter 4; blog 1, Underrated Artist

One of my favorite artists that I want to talk about today is Octavio, who I once mentioned in one of my previous blogs. His name is Octavio. Like I mentioned before, he is a very underrated artist with barely 8,000 subs on youtube and 4000 followers on instagram, and I’m happily one of those subscribers and followers. His songs are about his previous relationships which failed, he’s kind of like Taylor Swift who sings about break ups. His songs are really amazing and really great quality. His songs have lyrics that are so powerful, which they would sound like they’re from more popular artists, but they’re from him which feel really special, since so little people know about him.

The song that I want to mention today, besides Love Me Please which I mentioned a few blogs back, is Don’t Dream It’s Over. This song I feel like is about a relationship ending and a person in that relationship is trying to commit suicide. This song is kind of like a pop song and a sad song at the same time, without the slow music in the background. One of the lyrics that really hit deep is “When the world comes in,” I think it’s an amazing lyric because when you’re at the lowest point in life, it feels like the world is ending and there’s nothing left to live for, and then there’s this lyric “You know they won’t win,” which is also really powerful because it’s kind of like reassurance, because it’s kind of like not letting death win because of the point of the song, suicide.

I’ve recently discovered him, just about one month ago which isn’t that long ago, while listening to my made for you, which is kind of like recommendations, and the song Love Me Please showed up, and I instantly fell in love with that song. I searched up the artist on youtube, and saw he was underrated, but I gave his songs a chance, because usually these days some artists would have one good song that’s really popular, but the rest of their songs aren’t that popular, but than after listening to all his songs, I saw he was a genuine artist that puts out songs that have genuine feelings in them, which isn’t really the case for a lot of artists these days, whether they’re popular or not. I recommend listening to him, especially if you’re a teenager that’s heartbroken. 🙂
