Instead of this week with me talking about new music or one of my favorite songs, today I want to talk about what everyone on this planet earth is going through, Covid-19. First I want to say my thoughts based on what I’m seeing through in my eyes, with no articles involved or news broadcasts.
For me this quarantine has been both a pleasurable thing and a torturous thing. I enjoy sleeping later than usual not worrying either the fact that I’ll be late to school, dressing nice, or not having enough time to finish my homework. I love that I get to go at my own pace and be able to put on a film or a movie to enjoy while doing my homework.
There’s also some bad things about quarantine like not being able to go outside of my home, seeing my friends, and little things like breathing fresh air. I love my home and my family, but seeing them and being around them, trapped between walls frustrate me. All day continuously I munch on snacks and all types of food to try distract my boredom, and that’s why my weight is like a rollercoaster. There are also not many things I’m missing because of quarantine, besides school, things like prom and graduation, which would sadden me if those things were taken away from me, but then again there are also many bigger problems out there like people dying and not having enough food to feed your families, and that’s what’s keeping me hopeful, because of the fact that I’m blessed with enough food and shelter from this pandemic.
Looking globally, all I see is Covid-19 on the news, all day just about it’s death counts and how many people have it. On social media, all I see is racist stories about asians getting beaten up and other really sad stories. It’s really tiring when that’s what you’re thinking about all day and seeing everyone talk about it just really make people think that they’re going to die. If anything through this we should work together and get rid of this virus instead of going outside to spread it even more, but at least through this, our earth is healing through us isolating into our homes. Stay safe out there.
