As quarantine continues, I have a lot of time to find new songs. Today I want to share a song I’ve recently found through me putting my weekly discover on shuffle to find music that I already don’t listen to. The song I want to talk about today is Young and Alive by Bazzi. This song was recently released and was created for his girlfriend for their two year anniversary. I think it’s adorable and cute that he wrote her a song because it’s kinda cliche and they’ve always been a cute couple. This song was included in an album with another song that was also dedicated to her which is called Renee’s Song. With that title you can probably tell that’s her name. That song is also another cliche song about his troubled past, but after her coming into his life it became better. Quote “But my worst days, they won’t last If you come here,” Of course this song was created for his girlfriend but this song makes it like it’s made for you and that you’re madly in love.
More about the song I want to talk about, Young and Alive, is about being together for quite some time and even though they’ve known each other for a long time, she still gives him butterflies. Whenever he’s with her he feels like he’s in highschool again, meeting her for the first time. I think it’s cliche for that same reason and I think the two duo song in that album is cute together because one is about being young and alive and having together fun together with no worries and the other one is more deep talking about how bad his past is and even though he might be in his worst days, having her around instantly makes it better. With those two songs,it really expresses having fun and the other one is more about appreciation towards her.
I really like both songs but I feel like ‘Renee’s song’ is more about adult love and I’ve never experienced love in the first place so I can’t really relate to it, but ‘Young and Alive’ is more about highschool love and having fun which I think I can relate to more. If you ever feel like you want to listen to a lovey dovey song these two are the ones you need to try out. It’ll make you really miss that one special person.
